The Duchess of Sussex worked with Wendell Pierce in Suits

Meghan Markle’s Suits co-star has admitted the royal’s desire to act again “bothers” him.

Wendell Pierce worked with the Duchess of Sussex for seven seasons of Suits as the father of Meghan’s character, Rachel Zane.

The 60-year-old actor shared anecdotes from his time with the duchess and spoke of Meghan’s love for acting.

Pierce said: “The one thing that bothers me the most right now for Meghan is the fact that I know she would love to act again.”

Meghan left Suits when she married into the Royal Family in 2018 and retired from acting.

People reported that Pierce was very fond of Meghan as a friend and as an actress.

He said: “She’s [Meghan] is wonderful. She’s wonderful as both. She’s the nicest person ever.”

Pierce also revealed what he said to Meghan the last time they worked together.

Pierce said: “It was the last night of working and I said, ‘Meghan, your life is going to change, and you're going to be in a bubble, but just always remember, no matter what, I'm your friend, you have lots of friends.

“We're always thinking about you, we’ll always be there for you. And you know, no matter where you are, always know you have a friend in me'.”

It comes following speculation that Meghan could return to the show as Aaron Korsh, the creator of Suits, is plotting a standalone new series Suits: LA.

But Rachael Harris, an actress from Suits, revealed that none of the original cast would be appearing in the new drama.

According to the actress, Korsh “was very clear with me [Harris] that no one from the previous cast is going to be in Suits: LA.”

In 2023, Suits made a comeback after landing on Netflix, quickly becoming one of the most popular shows on Netflix that year.

Meghan described the comeback as “wild” at Variety’s Power of Woman event in Los Angeles in November.

Meghan will be launching a new podcast this year in a deal with Lemonada following the duke and duchess’s split with Spotify.
