Meghan Markle is set for “one of the biggest TV deals of the year” in a “tailor-made” role, a source has claimed.

The Duchess of Sussex is reported to have been offered a “dream role” which would see her return to screens in a spin-off of the hit TV show Suits.

Meghan is reported to have been offered a role in at least one episode of the legal drama’s new series in a performance which has been exclusively written for her.

According to the Daily Express, a senior production source said that there are talks between the network and the powerhouse talent agency WME, who represents the duchess, stating: “This is shaping up to be one of the biggest TV deals of the year.

“Meghan is in a commanding position. They want to expand a successful franchise in which she has a ready-made fan base of millions worldwide.

“They want her back and they are prepared to pay what it takes to get her.”

This comes as NBCUniversal has reportedly been given the green light to work on Suits: Los Angeles and episodes have already been written by Aaron Korsh, the creator of Suits.

The Express revealed that the new show will “feature a female lead who bears an uncanny resemblance to Meghan’s previous character, Rachel.”

The source also suggested that there could be an official announcement about the new season from as early as next month.

Meghan left the show when she joined the Royal Family and married Prince Harry in 2018.

Suits ran for nine seasons across eight years and came to an end in 2019, a year after the duchess and her co-worker Patrick Adams left the show.

In 2023, Suits made a comeback after landing on Netflix, quickly becoming one of the most popular shows on Netflix that year.

On the red-carpet last November, the Duchess of Sussex was told that the show had 45 billion minutes streamed on Netflix and Peacock combined.

The duchess seemed surprised at the figures exclaiming: “Isn’t that wild?”

She continued to speculate what may have caused the surge of interest in the show stating: “It’s hard to find a show you can binge-watch that many episodes of these days, so that could have something to do with it.

“But good shows are everlasting.”
