Meghan Markle has been applauded for “dominating” the Paris fashion scene as she fronted the campaign for Balenciaga Spring/Summer 2026 womenswear collection.
The Duchess of Sussex was in the French capital over the weekend to attend Fashion Week, her first European public engagement in three years.
Saturday’s surprise appearance was a long-awaited return to form for Meghan, who previously frequented Fashion Weeks in New York and Toronto during her time starring in the US legal drama Suits.
While there, the duchess wore two monochromatic outfits beginning with an all-white ensemble featuring an oversized cape, crisp button-down shirt and coordinating trousers.

In the evening, she changed into a black dress with a cape elegantly positioned over one shoulder, maintaining her sleek updo and dark heels.
The duchess was attending Paris Fashion Week to support Italian designer Pierpaolo Piccioli in his debut show as creative director of Balenciaga.
In another surprise move, Meghan fronted Mr Piccioli’s new collection for the next summer season.
Wearing her first crisp white outfit, the duchess was featured first on a carousel of photos shared by the French fashion house on social media.

Meghan could be seen standing casually, set against an austere grey concrete background.
The move delighted fans, who flooded the comments of the post on Instagram with praise for the duchess.
“How do you dominate the headlines at Paris Fashion Week? Invite Meghan Duchess of Sussex,” one declared.
Another shared: “Meghan Duchess of Sussex looks regal love the look”.

A fifth described her appearance on of the Parisian scene as “perfection”.
The comments were also awash with simple posts repeating Meghan’s name alongside a host of fire, amazed and love heart emojis.
Meghan’s last European appearance was during Queen Elizabeth II's funeral in 2022, where she was accompanied by Prince Harry.
The Duke of Sussex did not accompany his wife to Paris on this most recent trip, with Meghan instead being escorted by security personnel.
While attending the show in the French capital, Meghan had an encounter with the legendary Vogue global editor Anna Wintour.
The meeting, in which they exchanged pleasantries and compliments about outfits, appeared to put to bed rumours of a feud between the pair.
