Meghan also revealed she was not afraid to get her 'hands dirty'

The Duchess of Sussex has admitted she does not have time to cook for her family every day, instead relying on takeaway meals which she plates to look "beautiful".

Meghan Markle, 43, made the revelation on the latest episode of her podcast Confessions of a Female Founder.

Meghan invited Heather Hasson, head of healthcare apparel brand FIGS, onto the latest instalment of her podcast, where she explored her approach to take-out meals.

Explaining how her busy schedule affects dinner prep, the duchess revealed: "I see vegetables and I see take-out – because I don't have time to cook every day."

"I go 'all right, but how do I still make this flattering and beautiful and present well and something that people find appetising'," Meghan said.

The Duchess also revealed she adds vegetables from her garden to make ordered food healthier. Hasson empathised, conceding to being a "terrible cook" during their conversation.

The 43-year-old's approach to takeaway food was also seen in her Netflix show, With Love, Meghan.

In one episode, she demonstrated how to plate up Chinese takeaway food "beautifully" as well as making banana splits and fruit salads decorated with edible flowers.

The royal's lifestyle series claims she was hoping to "make magic out of elevating ordinary things".

In the podcast, Meghan also emphasised that successful entrepreneurs aren't afraid to tackle difficult, often messy, situations.

"It can get messy and the best founders are not afraid to get their hands dirty," she declared.

The Duchess clarified: "And I don't mean play dirty. I mean, when it's 'clean up on aisle five' time, you are the first person there with a mop."

Building on that, Meghan also discussed simplifying everyday challenges and hoe "you get your hands involved and change the way of thinking surrounding it so it doesn't feel daunting".

The conversation thread was prompted by Meghan's own experience as founder of lifestyle business, As Ever.

"The types of minutia that at the onset you kind of have to be across every single granular detail," she explained, reflecting on her central role in the early stages of the business.

Even as she advised how to simplify the overwhelming amount of tasks, the Duchess added: "I don't know how to not have love in the details."

To that end, she expressed the exhausting nature of "wearing so many hats" whilst creating As Ever.

Tuesday's episode marks the sixth instalment of Meghan's Lemonada Media podcast series, which has been releasing new episodes each Tuesday since April 8.

Previous guests have included prominent female entrepreneurs from various industries.

The Duchess has interviewed Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe Herd and Girls Who Code founder Reshma Saujani.

She has also spoken with Kadi Lee, co-founder of Highbrow Hippie, and Jamie Kern Lima, who co-founded IT Cosmetics.
