Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams criticised the Duchess on GB News

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams has delivered a scathing assessment of the second season of Meghan Markle’s Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, during an appearance on GB News.

The Duchess’s show, which premiered on Tuesday, revealed that the mother-of-two spent three weeks apart from her children after the late Queen died left and dislikes baking.

It also revealed that Prince Harry told his now-wife that he loves her before she admitted her affection for him.

“She knows very well that the moment she talks about the Royal Family, there’s interest”, he said.

“There’s very little interest in anything else she does. Talk about authenticity, the fact she was complaining she couldn’t be authentic when she was a senior working royal…

“I just waded through four of the eight episodes and I have rarely in my life seen anything inauthentic. It’s superficial, it’s cringeworthy, what on earth is she talking about? She’s talking about formality. My goodness, if this is Meghan being informal, it’s terrifying.”

Nana and Cameron were taken aback by the crushing words with the former left in hysterics and the latter sarcastically telling Mr Fitzwilliams to “tell us how you really think”.

Cameron, who is GB News’s Royal Correspondent, offered his own analysis as he told Nana that the show is catered to a certain audience.

“I think if you like a cookery show, you might watch it, if you don’t like Meghan Markle, you’re not going to watch it”, he said.

“There’s lifestyle, cooking, a bit of arts and crafts, she’s making cakes. Equally, she has done this interview where she says that she is now free to live in California free from the shackles of royal life.”

Prince Harry remains conspicuously absent from the latest episodes, despite making a brief appearance during the first season's final garden brunch sequence.

Throughout the new series, the Duke of Sussex appears solely in still photographs, including one showing him with chef Clare Smyth.

The Grammy-winning musician greets viewers upon arrival, prompting Meghan to remark she would have invited Harry to join them.

The Duchess reveals her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, wish for a feline companion at home during her conversation with Chrissy Teigen, who mentions having both dogs and cats.

She also discloses details about her domestic poultry, including two distinctive silkie chickens named Jill and Phil, a breed recognised for its characteristically fluffy feathers.

The Duchess spoke to Bloomberg to mark the launch of the second season of her show.

Meghan described how she “couldn’t be as vocal” in the past and said she was not able to dress in the manner she wanted.

Her relationship with Netflix was also up for discussion after she and Harry recently signed a new multi-year contract with the streaming giant.

The Duchess said: “And then with the evolution of our partnership now, is them doubling down in their support of As Ever.”
