The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also omitted the word from their Christmas card

The Duchess of Sussex will star in a “magical holiday celebration” edition of her Netflix lifestyle show, With Love, Meghan.

Despite being slated for a December release and promising to “deck the halls,” the word Christmas is not mentioned in the announcement.

Monday’s news was part of a larger announcement of the extension of a deal between Netflix and the Sussex, through their Archewell production company.

Among a host of other projects, With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration was championed by the streaming giant.

“This December, join Meghan in Montecito for a magical holiday celebration,” the tease began.

“Together, friends and family deck the halls, create holiday feasts, craft heartfelt gifts, and share lots of laughs – with simple how-tos to follow at home.

"It's a holiday wonder with warmth, tradition, and a generous dose of joy,” the statement concluded.

Despite the special offering appearing to take on a Christmas theme, the word Christmas was notably absent from the tease.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex previously received flak for failing to use the word on their Christmas card last year.

It read: “Prince Harry & Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Archewell Productions and Archewell Foundation.

“We Wish You a Very Happy Holiday Season and a Joyful New Year,” the couple concluded, accompanied by pictures of their family, including Prine Archie and Princess Lilibet.

The omission irked some followers, including GB News presenter Ben Leo who wrote on social media at the time: "Harry and Meghan send out their Christmas cards - without the word ‘Christmas’ anywhere.

On Monday, Netflix declared it would continue its "creative partnership" with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, through their production company Archewell, in a "multi-year, first look deal for film and television projects".

Speaking to GB News about the deal extension, a source close to the couple explained that the Sussexes were: "Pretty thrilled with the deal. It’s been a long time in the planning."

"They’re over the moon. It’s great to be able to continue making great programmes with Netflix," they continued.

"It’s been frustrating we haven’t been able to say too much and put [the rumours] to bed during contract negotiations.

"Some of the reporting shows you how much wild and inaccurate speculation there is around the Duke and Duchess.

"Harry and Meghan are still box office despite what the British press might want to think, and prefer to promote a negative agenda."

"Netflix would not have renewed the deal if they thought The Duke and Duchess wouldn’t sell," the source concluded.

Thrilled about the announcement, Meghan also said: "We're proud to extend our partnership with Netflix and expand our work together to include the As Ever brand.

"My husband and I feel inspired by our partners who work closely with us and our Archewell Productions team to create thoughtful content across genres that resonates globally, and celebrates our shared vision," she added.
