“If you know your audience, if you know your demographic... They love the show,” the Duchess shot back.

“My partners love the show and that’s why we have a season two and why we have more fun coming,” she continued.

Regarding her critics, Meghan wondered with Ms Chang if there may have been a more cynical reason behind the derision.

“I think oftentimes the negative voices, are they saying negative things and then secretly going home and making single skillet spaghetti? Possibly,” she began with a grin.

“And that’s alright, they’re trying to pay the bills,” the Duchess said.

She continued: “That’s for them to sort out if they’re comfortable doing it at someone else’s detriment.”

Defending her various media ventures, Meghan explained: “From my standpoint, the intention of the show was to share more of myself, to share tips that I love in life and have fun.”

To that end, the Duchess declared she “just being myself” as she discussed her return to social media and how she presented herself through the medium.

Ms Chang asked if it was difficult for Meghan to reveal her full self online. “Do you feel like it’s hard to show your whole self?” she said.

Meghan admitted that she sometimes hesitates before posting, pointing to the twerking video she filmed during her pregnancy with Princess Lilibet and subsequently shared online earlier this year.

“I waffle with some of my choices before I make them. I’m generally very decisive, but social media is a great barometer for me, because putting out a video of myself, nine months pregnant, was a really big choice," she said.

“But I also wanted people to see themselves in my story and our story. And to be able to show that with all the noise that might happen in the world on a day-to-day basis, real life is still happening behind the scenes, really real life," the Duchess responded.

However, Meghan reflected on a time when she felt she was not always able to express herself so openly.

The Duchess used an example of a rule she had to follow when she and Prince Harry were active members of the Royal Family.

"I think probably it was different several years ago where I couldn’t be as vocal and I had to wear nude pantyhose all the time,” Meghan said.

“Let’s be honest, that was very not myself."

“I hadn’t seen pantyhose since movies in the eighties where they came in a little egg. That felt a little bit inauthentic.” she added.
