Ms Chang asked: “Is there an inherent tension in trying to be relatable while also being a duchess?”

Meghan denied any such tensions, explaining “I’m just being myself,” but did acknowledge this was not always the case.
"I think probably it was different several years ago where I couldn’t be as vocal and I had to wear nude pantyhose all the time,” the Duchess said.
“Let’s be honest, that was very not myself."
“I hadn’t seen pantyhose since movies in the eighties where they came in a little egg. That felt a little bit inauthentic.” Meghan continued.

While the Duchess admitted the example may have been “silly,” she said it demonstrated a time before she was “able to dress how you want to dress and you’re able to say the things that are true”.
Meghan celebrated that she was now able to: “Show up in a space really organically and authentically, that’s been comfortable in your own skin.”
Silly or not, royal commentator Victoria Arbiter pointed out that the wearing of nude pantyhose among royal ladies was a tradition established by the late Queen Elizabeth II.
“The late Queen’s preference was for nude pantyhose. Out of respect for her, royal ladies wore them in her presence.

“During their solo engagements or in their own time they typically didn’t. Nude tights were a mark of respect,” the commentator wrote on X.
In the podcast, the Duchess also discussed her return to social media and how she presents herself through the medium.
Ms Chang asked if it was difficult for Meghan to reveal her full self online. “Do you feel like it’s hard to show your whole self?” she said.
Meghan admitted that she sometimes hesitates before posting, pointing to the twerking video she filmed during her pregnancy with Princess Lilibet and subsequently shared online earlier this year.

“I waffle with some of my choices before I make them. I’m generally very decisive, but social media is a great barometer for me, because putting out a video of myself, nine months pregnant, was a really big choice," she said.
“But I also wanted people to see themselves in my story and our story. And to be able to show that with all the noise that might happen in the world on a day-to-day basis, real life is still happening behind the scenes, really real life," the Duchess responded.
The podcast, released on August 26, covered a number of topics from the Duchess of Sussex’s life and current ventures.
It was released as the second series of her Netflix lifestyle programme, With Love, Meghan.
