The Duke of Sussex released his controversial autobiography, Spare, in January 2023

King Charles is worried that Sarah Ferguson may follow in Prince Harry’s footsteps and release a damaging book if the Royal Lodge situation cannot be solved amicably, a royal source has claimed.

Prince Andrew and Ms Ferguson are set to leave the royal residence imminently as the pressure surrounding the disgraced royals' links to paedophile Jeffrey Epstein continues to increase.

Ms Ferguson is set to release new fictional books as part of her business ventures, but is concerned the scandal may have “fatally damaged” her business interests.

A source said: “She is contrite and embarrassed but also fears the scandal has fatally damaged her own business interests, including a number of new fictional books that are due to come out.

“People don't want to be associated with her anymore.”

The source added: “The honest truth is that she has nowhere to go and no one to go with [if Andrew loses Royal Lodge].

“Her future is hanging in the balance.”

"The King is a kind man but his patience has been pushed to the limit. However, the last thing he also wants is another "Spare" [the vitriolic memoir brought out by his own son, Prince Harry, in 2023]."

The King has long wanted Andrew to move out of the Royal Lodge. The pair have lived together in the Grade II 30-room mansion since 2008.

However, it is now believed that the pair are willing to leave the royal residence, but only if they are given a home each in return.

The duo was originally offered Frogmore Cottage, and while it has been described as “lovely” by a source who has visited, Andrew reportedly views it as a step down from Royal Lodge, which is described as “terribly grand.”

Ms Ferguson reportedly wants to live in Adelaide Cottage, as the pair believe Frogmore Cottage is too “small” for the two of them.

A friend revealed: “Frogmore Cottage is too small for both and Adelaide Cottage is around the corner so they will see each other whenever they want.”

Adelaide Cottage is less than a mile away from Frogmore Cottage, and they are both within proximity of Windsor Great Park.

Prince William and Princess Kate currently reside at Adelaide Cottage, but plan to vacate the residence before the end of 2025.

The King had previously offered to help fund his disgraced brother if he moved out of Royal Lodge, but it is unknown if that offer still stands, given current events.

Over a year ago, Charles stripped Andrew of his personal allowance and offered him Frogmore Cottage as a new place of residence, but he turned down the offer, as Andrew claimed his lease was “cast iron” and he would not move.

Negotiations are said to be in the “advanced stages” as Andrew and Ms Ferguson’s days at Royal Lodge seem to be coming to a close.

GB News has contacted Ms Ferguson for comment over claims she is seeking to move into Adelaide Cottage.
