Gary Goldsmith, who is the Princess of Wales' uncle, is in the Celebrity Big Brother house this year
GB News host Bev Turner has defended Gary Goldsmith and claimed that Kate's uncle is "normalising" the royals.
On the show Goldsmith introduced himself as the "uncle to the future queen of our country", and said his niece is "simply perfect".He also revealed that the first time he met Prince William, the future King offered to make him a cup of tea whilst Kate cooked in the kitchen and described the pair as "very normal."
GB News royal correspondent Cameron Walker said: "I don't think that could be any further from the perception of the British Royal Family if you tried.
"The fact that he not only the uncle of the future Queen, but also the great uncle of the future King, Prince George, whether he wants to or not this is going to create some alarm bells and embarrass the Royal Family."
Bev responded: "You know what? I think that it is very humanising because Kate is not royal blood."
