The Princess of Wales was spotted in Windsor over the weekend

“Woman goes shopping” would be the alternate headline anti monarchists would use to describe the first video of the Princess of Wales since her abdominal surgery.

The grainy footage, filmed by a member of the public, shows Prince William and Catherine walking outside a Windsor farm shop last weekend, appearing happy and relaxed.

The princess has been the target of mass hysteria and online conspiracy theories for months, but the harassment only amplified after she apologised for “minor edits” to her family Mother’s Day photograph.

An image, which should have quashed the conspiracy theories, only added fuel to the fire.

But this new video could just be the “golden ticket” out of Kensington Palace’s problems.

Most of the online trolls have accepted the video footage is real (for the record, it is).

So, in theory, the trending Kate Middleton hashtags should start to die down.

But what are the terms and conditions of this “golden ticket”?

It is incredibly rare for a British news organisation to publish an unauthorised image of the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Although royal sources maintain the princess wishes to recover from her surgery in private, there hasn’t been much backlash from the Palace so far.

Prince William will be mindful of the media harassment his mother endured, and he will not want to open Pandora’s box by accepting regular media intrusion.

Give the social media trolls an inch, and they will demand a mile.

Perhaps the next photograph of the Prince and Princess of Wales will be strictly on their terms.
