Donald Trump made private negative comments about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in the Oval Office, a commentator has claimed.
According to Robert Hardman, the US President expressed considerable fondness for King Charles and satisfaction with how the State Visit had unfolded.
He also disclosed his views on the Prince of Wales, reportedly telling Mr Hardman: "William, he'll be a good King, won't he? He's very nice. A great guy. I like him."
The US President reserved particular admiration for the Princess of Wales, whom he described as "perfect" and "so great" during his private meeting with Mr Hardman.

Mr Trump enquired about Catherine's wellbeing following her cancer diagnosis, remarking: "She was sick, people said crazy things about her, and she was so brave."
The 44-year-old princess last encountered Mr Trump in September when he attended a State Banquet at Windsor Castle, where she was seated beside him for dinner.
On that occasion, the president described her as "so radiant, and so healthy and so beautiful."
Catherine wore a couture gown by British designer Phillipa Lepley featuring a gold Chantilly lace overlay for the occasion, radiating elegance throughout the evening.

According to The Mail journalist Richard Eden, the US President asked Charles during the visit: "Can you take him [Harry] back?"
In his conversation with Mr Hardman, President Trump was blunt about Meghan Markle's influence on her husband, stating: "That wife of his. Boy, what she's done to that guy."

"I think I'm speaking for the UK more than Prince Harry. But I appreciate his advice," Mr Trump remarked.
He then added sarcastically: "How's his wife? Please give her my regards."
Mr Hardman summarised President Trump's position as "possibly less flattering about the Sussexes."
The US President's remarks followed Harry's recent visit to Ukraine, where the duke criticised Mr Trump's approach to the conflict with Russia.

The 41-year-old also directly addressed Vladimir Putin, calling on him to end the war and prevent further suffering for both Ukrainians and Russians.
Harry told ITV he would not be "gagged" by critics and would continue "speaking truth to power."
Despite his father's presence in America, the pair did not meet during the State Visit.
