Jeremy Clarkson was unable to resist a cheeky dig at F1 driver Lewis Hamilton on Sunday afternoon after the 41-year-old secured a landmark triumph at the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix.
The victory was a significant one for Mr Hamilton as it marked his maiden victory as a Ferrari driver, bringing to an end a winless drought stretching back nearly two years.
The result marks Ferrari's first grand prix success since Carlos Sainz's Mexican victory in 2024, whilst Mr Hamilton becomes the oldest race winner in Formula One since Jack Brabham achieved the feat in 1970.
Championship leader Kimi Antonelli's dominant run came to an abrupt halt when an engine failure forced him out of the race with just four laps remaining, having only moments earlier overtaken George Russell for second position.

The results meant it was the first all-British podium since 1968.
Avid F1 fan Mr Clarkson was among the many fans who flocked to social media to share their thoughts on the race.
And while he acknowledged the significance of the all-British trio, he spotted the chance to poke fun at Mr Hamilton.

"Great to see three Brits on the podium in Barcelona," Mr Clarkson began on X. "Just a shame the winner was sponsored by an Italian beer."
Mr Clarkson, who runs his own beer company, Hawkstone, was referencing the fact that Mr Hamilton is backed by Peroni Nastro Azzurro 0.0%.
Not done there, Mr Clarkson followed up with his own ambitions to one day see his own beer branded emblazoned on the gear of an F1 champion.
"One day, I hope Hawkstone is big enough to sponsor an F1 team. But which one?" he mused.

Inevitably, the tongue-in-cheek pop at Mr Hamilton and his open-ended query prompted F1 fans everywhere to share their thoughts.
"Alpine is the absolute perfect F1 team for you to sponsor," one X user weighed in. "They're literally your local team — chassis factory in Enstone, 20 minutes from Diddly Squat."
A second argued: "It’s got to be the iconic British team of Williams, I am sure Frank would have loved @RealHawkstone, plus it’s the nearest team to you! Maybe a Williams/Hawkstone collaboration."
Meanwhile, a third X user had an alternative suggestion: "Build your own F1 car, Jeremy. I mean, how hard can it be?"

And perhaps Mr Clarkson could call on old friends. "Hawkstone Racing has a ring to it... don’t sponsor a team, be the team, just don’t have the hamster as one of your drivers," another fan commented.
Elsewhere, Mr Hamilton's emotional radio message immediately after crossing the line captured the significance of the moment.
"Grazie tutti Maranello," he told his engineers. "You've helped me achieve this dream, and I can't thank you enough. Thanks to everyone pushing so hard back at home."
Speaking in parc fermé, the Briton paid tribute to team principal Fred Vasseur for bringing him to Maranello.

"I started out with a dream which seemed almost impossible during my time last year, but we never gave up hope, and the team continued to lift me up," Mr Hamilton said.
He also acknowledged his supporters, declaring: "I have got the greatest fanbase a sportsman could ever ask for."
Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri rounded out the top five behind the trio of British drivers.
