In today's GB News Daily Reflection, we examine how most of us decide how to live by listening to the voices around us.
"We read the room, sense which way opinion is blowing and a bit like a weather vane. We quietly turn to come into line with the prevailing wind. That's safer. It's less costly, less embarrassing. But every so often someone listens to a different voice.
"One of my personal heroes is William Wilberforce. He spent decades fighting for the abolition of the slave trade. We cheered that today, but few did. Then he was mocked, opposed, worn down. It cost him his health and much of his reputation.
"But from reading the Bible, he was convinced that every human has dignity and worth, and that God was calling him to oppose the slave trade. So he kept going."
