
In today's GB News Daily Reflection, we recall how heart wrenching it is to say goodbye to those we love.
"This church building is called The Ascension. It's a scene depicted in the window behind me when Jesus having died and risen again, then ascended into heaven, leaving this world and leaving his followers behind.
"It would have been a heart wrenching goodbye for them, and that's why Jesus prepared them for it so carefully the night before he died. He said to them, before long the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me because I live. You also will live.
"It's a promise that I think chimes with our deepest intuitions that death does not have the final word. And it's a promise that gives great assurance to followers of Jesus that because he lives, we will too. And that one day we will say a last goodbye to goodbyes forever."
