In today's Daily Reflection, we discuss how we prepare for visitors.
"In most cultures, hospitality is a matter of pride and social status. Preparing a place and a meal for guests says something about the kind of people we are.
"Jesus said to his disciples on the night before he died, I am going to prepare a place for you. He was saying something about death and what comes after. But he was also telling us something about himself.
"Christians believe that this whole life reflects God's hospitality. This world is far from perfect, but in the good and the bad, we can hear God's invitation into his love and grace.
"Not only that, but Jesus says he is making a better place for us, a perfect place. He is the most gracious host, giving us this world and this life in which we can respond to his goodness and receive his invitation into eternal life in the place he is preparing for us."
