In today's daily reflection, we think about why Britain has fallen into a relationship recession - but why they are the bedrock of Christianity.
"Part of the problem is we don't really have any shared values around forming and sustaining romantic relationships anymore. These have ebbed away since the 60s, when we largely abandoned any kind of religious basis for our society.
"Yet within Christian thinking, our closest relationships are the first place we learn to practice love of God and love of others.
"Your relationship with your partner, your boyfriend, girlfriend, your spouse is supposed to be the first place where you learn to love another person as you love yourself, and where you learn to treat another person as you'd want to be treated."
