Today, we celebrate Palm Sunday, and we're reminded in the Gospel of Matthew of how it begins with movement and celebration at the very start of Holy Week.
"Jesus enters Jerusalem not in military triumph, but riding humbly on a donkey. Crowds gather. Garments are laid on the road. Palm branches are lifted high.
"The air is filled with shouts of "hosanna' - a word that means 'save us'.
"The people welcome him as King, full of hope and longing. Yet the expectations may not fully match the pain he will take."
