In today's Daily Reflection, Christians celebrate and remember what is commonly called Good Friday.
"I wonder if you've ever stopped to think how strange that is that we would call that particular day good, because on it we remember the brutal, horrific death of an innocent man on a form of execution used by the Romans for criminals.
"In fact, it was so brutal that they themselves outlawed it not long after as a form of execution. And yet we call it good in the Christian tradition.
"Jesus himself seemed to wrestle with what was going on that day, trying to make sense of it as he cried out from the cross with his last breath, My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Now the reason it's good is because the story doesn't end there. But three days."
