Hungarian PM Viktor Orbán has said conservative forces should work to win to end the "liberal hegemony" and usher in an "era of sovereignty."
The hard right-wing populist and the European Union’s longest-serving leader, told supporters at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) Hungary called his country a "conservative island."
At the CPAC conference in Budapest which organisers declared a “no-woke zone,” journalists from mainstream outlets were banned from attending.
Orbán also gave a shout out to indicted former US President Donald Trump, encouraging him to "defend his own truth" in an ongoing criminal trial.

In an email, organisers said the conference is a "no woke zone," and that coverage would be possible at "future events when and if your organisation becomes significantly less woke."
Orbán said: "These elections coincide with major shifts in world political and geopolitical trends. The order of the world is changing, and we must usher our cause to triumph in the midst of these changes. Progressive liberals feel the danger. Replacing this era means replacing them."

It comes as presumptive US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump renewed his commitment to Orbán's regime, calling him a 'great man' despite previously confusing him with Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Speaking on his Truth Social page, Trump said: "I look forward to working closely with Prime Minister Orbán once again when I take the oath of office as the 47th President of the United States.
"As president I was proud to work with Prime Minister Orbán, by the way a great man, to advance the values and interests of our two nations.
"We cracked down on illegal immigration, protected our borders, created jobs and defended our traditions and Judeo-Christian values."
Lawyer and businessman Peter Magyar launched a campaign against Orbán

The nationalist leader faces one of the toughest elections of his 14-year rule with his country's economy in recession and a political newcomer threatening to upend the status quo.
Peter Magyar, a lawyer and businessman formerly close to Hungary's ruling nationalist government led a demonstration against Orbán which saw around 100,000 demonstrators in central Budapest.
He announced his formation of a new party which will participate in EU elections.
