Britain's most distinguished feline civil servant was spotted basking in the summer sunshine at Number 10 today, marking another day in his extraordinary tenure as Chief Mouser to the Cabinet Office.

Larry the Cat, who has faithfully served at Downing Street since 2011, appeared content as he enjoyed the warm weather outside the Prime Minister's residence.

Now in his fifteenth year of service, the tabby has become a permanent fixture of British political life.

The veteran mouser has outlasted five prime ministers and is currently serving his sixth, demonstrating remarkable staying power in the ever-changing landscape of Westminster politics.
