A Labour government will be a disaster for the country, Business Minister Kevin Hollinrake has claimed.
On last night’s leaders’ debate, he told GB News: “People will see different things from the debate, no doubt. What I saw is a clear choice and the Prime Minister set this out. You’ve got a choice about the future.
“It’s five years of future and you’ve got a choice between Rishi Sunak’s fire and fortitude which he showed or Keir Starmer, a man without a plan and a man without any answers.
“That was very clear to me. And so I thought the choice was clear. That's what people have.
“It was interesting talking to a taxi driver on the way in this morning and he was saying, Labour will probably get in and it'll be a disaster and I think people shouldn't accept that.
“I get the push for change but don't surrender yourself to a Labour government that's going to be a disaster, there is going to be higher taxation, there is going to be higher migration.
“That's clearly what we saw. You’ve got a clear choice now, higher migration, higher taxation under a Labour Government, lower taxation, lower migration under a Conservative government.”
He added: “On migration, Rishi Sunak’s got a plan to halve legal migration and that's a clear plan. And we're also to tackle illegal migration, which is the Rwanda plan.
“People who come over the Channel at the moment, they don't go into hotels, don't go into council flats, they go into detention. That's where they go.
“Keir Starmer on day one he said he will release those people on to the streets. That's a choice people have.”
