Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson has declared her "full support" for Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer following the resignation of Wes Streeting.
Speaking to the media following Mr Streeting's resignation, Ms Phillipson said: "I can't speak for Wes, I think it's a real shame that he's made that decision because I like and respect Wes, we've worked closely for many, many years.
"He was a brilliant cabinet colleague. I think he's done a great job as Health Secretary. I'm just sad. I'm sad he's come to that decision.
"I'd hoped not to be having this conversation, because I think Wes has got a huge amount to offer, and it's a shame that he's taken the decision to step away from cabinet, but that's that's his decision."
