US President Joe Biden is hoping to run for a second term ahead of this year's election

US President Joe Biden has caused "concern" amongst Democrat supporting celebrities, commentator Asia Grace has claimed.

This comes as the American leader is hoping for a second term ahead of November's presidential election, where he might face a rematch against Republican Donald Trump.

The former professional wrestler and actor, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, told Fox News that his endorsement of Biden in 2020 was "one I thought was the best decision for me at that time".

He added: "Am I going to do that again this year? That answer's no. What that caused back then was something that tears me up in my guts back then and now, which is division - and that got me."

Speaking to GBN America, Asia Grace said that celebrities and public figures backing political figures and presidential candidates is "nothing new", and they've been "doing it for decades".

Grace explained: "A lot of celebrities have recently found that they want to share their voice. They don't want to just be pigeonholed to arts and entertainment and music.

"They want to show that they have some intellectual depth and that they're into politics and world."

Reacting to Johnson's decision to not endorse Joe Biden this year, Grace said on a number of occasions, that celebrities have "felt differently" once the person took office.

Grace added: "I'm not sure that celebrities are going to back away from this, but they might change how they express their endorsements or back certain political figures."

Host Nana Akua asked Grace if Joe Biden has "anybody backing him" and if he will actually become the Democratic candidate for the election.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

Grace responded: "A lot of people are concerned. Obviously, his age has been a topic of a lot of controversy, border control, and inflation. A lot of millennials are struggling to pay back student loans too. They're looking to him like 'is this cancellation of student debt going to happen?'

"Many can't start a family, buy a house, can't do anything because, at 18, they signed a 360 deal that's locked them into having to pay $100,000 back at 30 something or 40 something."

Grace continued: "So there's a number of people that have a lot of concerns. I think he is trying to work through some things in order to kind of regain the favour of the public.

"We don't have a ton of answers just yet as we are inching towards November, but it seems like both candidates are doing their best to try to pull what they can from the audience."

Nana was critical of Biden and said the American voters "don't seriously think that Joe Biden is making any real decisions at all".

Nana argued: "When they say old Joe Biden sat down and thought about Israel, he probably sat down and fell asleep. Somebody else is obviously running the show?"

Grace replied: "He has a number of people on his side. I think that Dr Jill Biden is extremely intelligent, and I'm not saying she's running the show, but I'm saying the people he has in his corner, doing what they can.

"I think that he's doing his best. I'm not backing him or anyone. I'm just saying that as he is our current president, all we can do as the American people is hope for his best, because our lives are in his hands, so we can't really do much, but push him to do better."
