US President Donald Trump has called for Democrat congresswoman Ilhan Omar to face impeachment for comments he believed mocked the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
Ms Omar came under fire after making a series of comments in the wake of Mr Kirk's death which Republicans have said "mocked the cold-blooded assassination".
In an interview broadcasted live on YouTube, Ms Omar told British-American journalist Mehdi Hasan that those who believed “Charlie Kirk just wanted to have a civil debate” were "full of s***".
Ms Omar went on to say there is “nothing more f***** up than to pretend his words and actions have not been recorded”.

The Somalian-born lawmaker also reposted a video which appeared to call Mr Kirk a “stochastic terrorist” and a “reprehensible human being".
A resolution was tabled by Republican representative Nancy Mace to remove Ms Omar from her congressional committees and formally censure her before the House of Representatives.
However, the resolution narrowly failed after a vote in Congress to dismiss was passed, with 214-213 voting against censuring the lawmaker.
Four Republicans voted alongside the Democrats to dismiss, including Mike Flood, Tom McClintock, Jeff Hurd and Cory Mills.

Explaining his decision to vote against the wishes of many of his colleagues, Mr Mills said: “This is a First Amendment issue.
“We may not like or agree with what someone says, but that does not mean we should deny their First Amendment right.”
Mr Trump weighed in on the issue while onboard Air Force One departing Britain, saying she "should be impeached".
On Friday, the US President continued to criticise the Democrat congresswoman on his Truth Social platform, writing: "Ilhan Omar’s country of Somalia is plagued by a lack of central Government control, persistent poverty, hunger, resurgent terrorism, piracy, decades of civil war, corruption, and pervasive violence.

"All of this, and Ilhan Omar tells us how to run America!
"What SCUM we have in our Country, telling us what to do, and how to do it."
After the resolution was blocked, Ms Mace wrote on social media: "Ilhan Omar mocked the cold-blooded assassination of an innocent American husband and father.
"She’s supported ISIS. She’s supported the Muslim Brotherhood. She’s incited political violence.
"And tonight, Congress protected her."
After Ms Mace's scathing comments in the aftermath of the vote, Ms Omar replied to the post saying: "Literally none of this is true and this woman needs to get help.
"We have to stop allowing members who are experiencing mental breakdown to continue to work without getting them the help they need.
"This is an emergency, let’s help her before she hurts herself or one of us."
