Now to instead spend money on war on offence and defence, to spend the money on rebuilding the nation of coming together.

"He also had a huge political and military flex of muscles, talking about how they got rid of ISIS in three weeks, when previous regimes have said it would take four years."

Taking aim at the BBC, Martin added: "Donald Trump said, we are not going to abide by political correctness anymore. We just want to get the job done, and by Jove, they've got this job done. They've got this job done in record time.

He added: "Part of the deal, of course, was an exchange of prisoners. We're expecting this to carry on many, many more prisoners, of course, being released by the Israeli authorities in return for those 20 survivors and the 28 bodies of hostages, we now believe confirmed to have been deceased.

"This will continue throughout the coming days now, as we build towards a broader peace, a signing of that political peace."

Criticising remarks made by Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson about the UK's involvement in the peace deal, Martin concluded: "Isn't it interesting how at the weekend, Bridget Phillipson, our Education Secretary, was on the airwaves talking about we have played a key role behind this, behind the scenes in shaping this.

"Only for Mike Huckabee, the US Ambassador to Israel, to post a clip on social media saying 'I assure you she's delusional, she can thank Donald Trump any time'. Just to set the record straight. And I wonder what the political landscape would look like in the rebuilding of the area, and I wonder if that landscape may exclude the United Kingdom."
