Polls show the former UN ambassador is trailing by nearly 30 points in South Carolina

Nikki Haley is "embarrassed" and "humiliated in her home state" the Former White House Deputy Press Secretary Hogan Gidley has claimed, after polls revealed that Donald Trump is likely to secure another victory in South Carolina.

It comes as former President Donald Trump is expected to trounce Nikki Haley in South Carolina’s Republican presidential primary later today, but the ex-United Nations ambassador insists it won’t be a knockout punch.

Former White House Deputy Press Secretary Hogan Gidley said: "There's a difference between being embarrassed and being humiliated. Nikki was embarrassed in Iowa, embarrassed in New Hampshire.

"She was humiliated by an open box. That said, none of the above in Nevada. And now we head to South Carolina, her home state where she's down by 30 plus points and a lot of the polling.

"I got to tell you, I worked for Donald Trump for four years in the White House on the campaign. I know him very well.

"He faced some of the most difficult challenges, not just from the three letter agencies and the deep state and the federal government going after him, but with domestic policy, with foreign policy."
