London Mayor Sadiq Khan has indirectly called out Lee Anderson, as their row over the Tory's alleged "Islamophobic" comments continues.
Speaking at the British Kebab Awards, Khan told the crowd: "Not only do people in this room make great kebabs and help create jobs and prosperity, they show that our diversity is a strength, not a weakness, but as a source of pride, progress, and prosperity, not a cause of problems.
"Responsible politicians acknowledge and appreciate this. They don't denigrate our diversity or demonise our minorities. Responsible politicians know that at a time when emotions are understandably running high, we should seek to turn down the temperature and unite, not divide.
"And you know what? Responsible politicians also know that racism and prejudice, no matter what form it takes, regardless of whether it's antisemitism or yes, Islamophobia, should be counted and condemned, not given a free pass or left unchallenged for electoral gain."
