Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham spoke to the crowd after Mr Lammy, saying: "This was an appalling anti-semitic attack on our Jewish friends and neighbours.

"An attack on one of us is an attack on all of us."

Zack Polanski calls for ban on Palestine Action to be lifted

The terrorist ban on Palestine Action must be lifted, Zack Polanski told the Green Party conference.

The Green Party leader said: "We cannot talk about stopping genocide without talking about draconian crackdown on the right to protest happening against those taking action for Palestine, using terrorist legislation to arrest hundreds and hundreds of protesters for simply holding up a sign.

"The proscription of Palestine Action must be withdrawn, and every parliamentarian, Labour, Tory, Reform, even Lib Dem, who failed to vote against it, need to hang their heads in shame."

Robert Jenrick tells pro-Palestine marchers to 'do the decent thing and go home' ahead of more protests this weekend

Robert Jenrick has told GB News he wants pro-Palestine marchers to refrain from any protests this weekend.

The Shadow Justice Secretary made the request after a terror attack at a synagogue in Manchester, which left two dead.

Many have blamed the horror attack on a rising anti-Jewish sentiment in Britain, which some blame on the regular pro-Palestine demonstrations taking place across the country.

In the wake of the horror killings in Manchester, Mr Jenrick said he wants marchers to "do the decent thing".

"I've tried signing petitions, I've tried signing emails, they don't care. Just stop the marches, and it will stop spreading hate.

Baroness Michelle Mone QUITS as Tory peer

Michelle Mone is a Conservative life peerMichelle Mone is a Conservative life peer | PA

Baroness Michelle Mone has said she has "no wish to return to the Lords as a Conservative peer” in a letter to Tory leader Kemi Badenoch.

Ms Mone wrote: "Dear Kemi, I was shocked to the core to read about your inflammatory language on BBC Radio yesterday calling for me to resign from the House of Lords."

She added: "What is it exactly that I have done wrong? Do you know? If so, please enlighten me."

Lady Mone continued that Wednesday’s High Court ruling “was purely a contractual dispute between PPE Medpro and the DHSC”.

She also said: "I have never received a penny from PPE Medpro.

"Reference to £29m being placed in a trust for me and my kids is a lie. It is a trust set up by my husband for the benefit of all our kids, not just mine.

"This is no different to how my husband manages all his business affairs. I have no entitlement to any of this money whatsoever.”

She continued: "Stop playing silly little games that you somehow removed the whip from me. I removed it myself by taking a leave of absence.

"However, you will be pleased to hear that once I do clear my name, I have no wish to return to the Lords as a Conservative peer; that’s assuming there still is a Conservative Party before the next general election."

On Wednesday, PPE Medpro was ordered to pay back nearly £122 million to the Government after it was found to have breached a contract to supply surgical gowns during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Several high-profile politicians have called for Lady Mone to relinquish her peerage following the High Court judgment, including Chancellor Rachel Reeves, with Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch telling BBC local radio on Thursday that Lady Mone had brought "embarrassment and shame to the party", and should have the "book thrown at her".

Nigel Farage is a 'Trump-loving, tax-avoiding, science-denying, NHS-dismantling corporate stooge', says Zack Polanski

Green Party leader Zack Polanski has branded Reform’s leader Nigel Farage a "Trump-loving, tax-avoiding, science-denying, NHS-dismantling corporate stooge".

He also accused Labour of dancing to the tune of Reform UK.

In his leader’s speech at the Green Party Conference, Mr Polanski said: "The Prime Minister might call this an island of strangers. When Farage says jump, Labour might say ‘how high’.

"But the Greens will never dance to the tune of a Trump-loving, tax avoiding, science-denying, NHS-dismantling corporate stooge.”

As Green Party members gave a standing ovation, Mr Polanski said: "You might as well stay on your feet, because I’m going to say, we’ll say it loud, we’ll say it clear: migrants and refugees are welcome here."

He added: "We are under no illusion as to the threat we face in this county. A march in London addressed by a who’s who of the far right. A party leading in the polls with plans to deport our friends, our neighbours, our family members.

"And a government, a Labour government who are the handmaidens of this dangerous, deceitful politics.”

Nigel Farage dragged into Zack Polanski Green Party speech

Zack Polanski revealed that he spent his first full day as the Green Party leader in Nigel Farage’s constituency, Clacton.

"By the way guys that’s not a phrase you’ll often hear from the constituency’s own MP,” he joked.

There, he spoke with people who told him of "years of neglect, total detachment from the people actually making decisions, a feeling that there’s just not a future to get behind politics”.

He added: "Well, that’s where we come in, because everything we do between now and the next election must be bold. We have a vision for this place we call home, and boldness means connecting right now with how hard it is for so many people.

"It means listening, not just finger pointing, it means presenting not just a positive vision of the future, but what we can do right now, because we are here to turn our country around.

"So at every opportunity, from the doorstep to the TV studio, our message from the Green Party is this, ‘we will bring down your bills, we will cut the cost of living, and we will protect our NHS’.”

Green Party leader Zack Polanski has said it is time to take back power and wealth from the "tiny few" during the Green Party conference in Bournemouth.

Addressing members, Mr Polanski said: “This is a country that has so much going for it but we have been time and time again failed by a political class poisoned by extreme wealth.

"And you can see that poison every single day.

"Rough sleeping, it is up 164% since 2010. Half of renters are just one pay cheque away from losing their home.

"Water companies: they’re pumping sewage into our water and then charging us extra for that privilege.

"A country where we are all paying the cost of the selling-off of our shared assets. That’s right, it’s costing us £250 more each household, each year. That is the privatisation premium.

"A country where a tiny few have taken our power, our wealth. Things must change and, friends, it is time to take it back."

Labour MP joins calls for pro-Palestine protests to be cancelled this weekend

The chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group Against Antisemitism, Labour MP Joani Read, has called for pro-Palestine protests to be cancelled this weekend.

She said: "Britain's Jewish community has been telling us for years that antisemitic hatred and abuse has been rising, yet too often they have been ignored.

"Now that hatred has overflowed into murder it is essential that all of us clearly state our solidarity and that the state is deployed to protect its Jewish citizens and to bear down heavily on the Jew-haters in our midst.

"The fear of further attacks is unfortunately likely to be well grounded and it’s important that the police are given every assistance in their task of detecting and stopping would-be attackers.

"That means all political leaders with voice and authority should call for any protests planned for Saturday to be cancelled as a mark of solidarity and support for our common effort."

Zack Polanski SLAMS Shabana Mahmood after she branded Palestine protesters 'un-British'

Zack Polanski, the leader of the Green Party, has accused the home secretary of being "deeply irresponsible" for her comments about pro-Palestine protests.

She told GB News today that protestors at the rally overnight were "un-British" and described comments as "utterly disgraceful".

Mr Polanski said: "I think Shabana Mahmood is also being deeply irresponsible.

"There's a lot of it about. I think, ultimately conflating protests against the genocide in Gaza and ultimately weaponising that against an anti-Semitic attack on our streets, a terrorist attack is deeply irresponsible.

"And again, Democratic, non-violent protest is a cornerstone of our democracy."

'Utterly disgraceful!' Shabana Mahmood brands Palestine protesters 'un-British' after sickening scenes following terror attack

The Home Secretary, Shabana Mahmood, has branded pro-Palestine protesters, who said they don't support Jews in the UK, as "un-British" and "utterly disgraceful".

Pro-Palestine protests were taking place just hours after this attack, with one protester outside Downing Street heard shouting: "I don’t give a f*** about the Jewish community right now."

When asked for a response, Ms Mahmood told GB News: "Those messages are utterly disgraceful. They are fundamentally un-British in nature, as far as I'm concerned."

She called for Britons to "step back from protesting for at least a few days just to give the Jewish community here a chance to process what has happened and to begin the grieving process."

"I am very disappointed that some of the organisers haven't heeded the call to step back," Ms Mahmood added.

Kemi Badenoch insisted Conservative Party is the only 'credible alternative' to Labour despite Reform UK surge

Kemi Badenoch insisted the Conservative Party is the only 'credible alternative' to Labour

PA

Kemi Badenoch insisted the Conservative Party is the only "credible alternative" to Labour despite Reform UK's surge in the polls.

The Tory leader said she will use her party’s conference starting on Sunday in Manchester to show voters "that we’re the only party that can deliver a stronger economy and stronger borders".

She acknowledged the Tories were having a "tough time" after last year’s landslide General Election defeat, dismal poll ratings and a string of defections to Reform UK.

Mrs Badenoch said: "We are setting out how and why we are a credible alternative to Labour.

"Unemployment has risen every single month since Labour came into office. Inflation has nearly doubled since Labour came into office.

"People are crying out for solutions, and I’m going to show you we’re the only party that can deliver a stronger economy and stronger borders."

She described a war of words between Sir Keir Starmer and Nigel Farage as "not serious behaviour".

The comments follow several polls that have put Nigel Farage's Reform UK ahead in the polls, even showing that they would be close to forming a majority Government if a General Election were held today.

'Victims of discrimination!' Green Party conference bans women’s rights campaigners

The Green Women’s Declaration (GWD), a group advocating for sex-based rights for women, has been told its stall booking was cancelled at the Green Party conference.

The group said the move “undermines the rights of women to advocate for single-sex spaces, services, and sports — rights that are protected under UK law".

It told the Times: "The accusations made against our members, including claims of hostility and confrontation, are wholly unfounded."

The ban is the latest argument between those in the party who believe in sex-based rights and those who have made transgender rights a priority.

Zack Polanski, the new Green Party leader, has repeatedly spoken about his support for transgender people in same sex spaces despite April's Supreme Court ruling.

'We don't want our Jewish community here in Britain to have to live a smaller Jewish life because of the fear of antisemitism', says Shabana Mahmood

The Home Secretary, Shabana Mahmood, has told GB News that she doesn't want British Jews to "live a smaller Jewish life because of the fear of antisemitism."

Speaking to Britain's news channel, Ms Mahmood said: "My thoughts remain with the victims and the families of all those who have been murdered.

"And I particularly want to thank the members of the community who were worshipping at the synagogue yesterday, whose quick action undoubtedly saved lives.

"Alongside the quick reaction of the police who brought this attack to an end within seven minutes of receiving the first phone call.

"In terms of the attacker, this individual was not known to the security services. He has obviously been shot dead at the scene, but the police investigations will now continue at pace."

The Home Secretary added: "What I want to do is to reassure the community that this Government will take the rising tide of antisemitism seriously.

"We already invest in security for the community, security at places of worship as well as other communal institutions, because we don't want our Jewish community here in Britain to have to live a smaller Jewish life because of the fear of anti-Semitism.

"It is really important that we hold the line between what is legitimate in our country, which is protest and so on.

"But that behaviour which crosses the line and breaks our laws, the laws of our land, must be upheld, and I will ensure that they are."
