Zia Yusuf has accused Labour of "taking Britons for mugs" on GB News after the Home Secretary revealed a "firm but fair" plan to crack down on asylum seekers who break the law or work illegally.
Today, Shabana Mahmood revealed strict new rules prohibiting foreign criminals from entering the UK in an effort to make Britain less attractive for illegal immigrants.
In a keynote speech at the Institute for Public Policy Research in London, she vowed that Labour will end permanent refugee status.
The Minister also launched a pilot project to pay 150 families whose asylum claims had been rejected up to £40,000 each to leave the country voluntarily or face forcible removal.
Mr Yusuf was fuming over the latest set of plans served up by Labour, saying that they have "ound yet another way to kick British taxpayers in the teeth".
Lashing out, he said: "How on earth anyone could look at the fact that we have almost 200,000 people turn up on our beaches illegal over the last eight years because the British Government, at the behest of the Tories and Labour, put on a free food bank at British taxpayers expense?
"Free accommodation, free food, free meals, free healthcare... Instead of taking away the incentive, detaining and deporting them, she's come up with the ingenious idea of offering a £40,000 reward a £40,000 prize if you break in.
"It's an absolutely insane idea. It's a massive insult."
He added: "British people have been taken for mugs."
