Members also suggested the arson attack in Golders Green was a 'false flag'

Leaked WhatsApp messages have exposed Green Party activists referring to Jewish people as "an abomination to this planet".

Members of Greens for Palestine, a left-wing faction within the party, also said Jews "murder, bomb and starve" children.

A third suggested the arson attack on Jewish community-led ambulances in Golders Green was a "false flag", and potentially carried out by Jewish people themselves.

The messages reveal an exchange in which one member defended describing protesters in Golders Green as Jews rather than Zionists, writing: "They were Jews and we shouldn't be afraid to say it. They were Jewish supremacists."

The same individual continued: "Enough of being scared of hurting their feelings while they murder, bomb and starve children."

Another activist agreed, urging colleagues to "take back the narrative and the true meaning of the terms, particularly zionism and semite."

The first member then responded: "They are an abomination to this planet."

In a separate discussion, an activist shared coverage of the ambulance attack and wrote: "I saw somebody recently say that false flags were coming."

The arson targeted four ambulances belonging to a Jewish charity in north London.

Tope Olawoyin, a Green council candidate standing in Havering at the May 7 local elections, shared posts on X claiming there was "proof that the Golders Green ambulance attack was an inside job."

She also reposted content describing the arson "as a false flag" that had been "a monumental disaster."

Following the arrest of two British nationals in connection with the incident, Ms Olawoyin wrote: "I can say with almost absolute certainty that the men arrested are white, probably even Jewish, because we all know for a fact that if they weren't their names and pictures would be EVERYWHERE."

The 47-year-old and 45-year-old detained by the Metropolitan Police were both British citizens.

The comments are "straight out of Nazi Germany," the Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA) said. The group confirmed their lawyers are investigating the remarks.

"The real question is whether the Green Party is going to do anything about people who believe Jews are an abomination, and about the factions that include them and the motions that they propose," the spokesman added.

"Doing nothing will be the real abomination. This is a major moment for the Green Party to decide what it is and which side of morality it wants to be on."

Lord Katz, a Labour peer, described the mounting evidence of antisemitism within Green circles as "deeply troubling" and called on Mr Polanski to confront the issue directly.

Conservative Party chairman Kevin Hollinrake branded the language "utterly appalling," adding: "The Greens appear to be drifting into a pattern of tolerating anti-Semitism, failing to confront even the most blatant expressions of hatred."

Greens for Palestine denied that members had described Jews as an abomination, with a spokesman insisting: "We have spoken to the person you referred to in the comments expressed and they have confirmed that the comment was explicitly in relation to Zionists, not Jews and that this was in relation to the genocide of Palestinians."

It comes despite Mr Polanski sending a briefing document to Green activists last month, warning members to avoid posting antisemitic remarks online.

The briefing read: "Those who oppose us will be looking for the opportunity to say that we are a bunch of unpleasant, vengeful anti-Semites.

"They will seek to bait us into making statements emotionally, and smear us whenever they can. Don’t take the bait!

"Our cause is a righteous one – we are the good guys."
