This is the moment the BBC Question time crowd broke out into applause after an audience member warned the "radical left" Green Party posed a "danger to society".

The audience member, Adam, asked the panel in Wythenshawe: "Is it not highly disrespectful to remove Winston Churchill from banknotes? This move appears to be surrendering to the radical left wing."

He added the move was "unnecessary" and questioned where Britain would be without Sir Winston.

Then, he said the decision came "to appease the Greens".

Adam, from Dukinfield, pointed out how the party won his neighbouring Gorton and Denton seat in a by-election just weeks ago.

"They're what I'd deem the radical left and a danger to to our country and society - economically, more than anything," he said, prompting the Question Time crowd to break into applause.

Green MP Sian Berry prodded in response: "We've put our dreadful animals on the banknotes and everything!"

Ms Berry, laughing, said the decision was taken by the Bank because of how easy the notes were to forge.
