At least one holidaymaker has died and nine others were injured after a powerful wave swept swimmers out to sea at a popular Spanish resort.
The incident occurred in Puerto de la Cruz, a favourite destination for tourists in northern Tenerife.
Chaos broke out after a large wave at a pier swept 10 people into the sea.
Bystanders and police rushed to help, but one woman suffered a heart attack during the rescue.

Emergency services administered CPR to the holidaymaker, but she could not be saved.
One Briton was caught up in the dangerous sea conditions and said he wtinessed a bystander saving the life of another woman who had suffered a cardiac arrest.
The holidaymaker was due to return to the UK on Sunday.
The injured swimmers were rushed to separate medical facilities after the incidents.

Most of those affected suffered injuries from hitting the pier or rocks, as well as complications from being swept into the sea.
Three of the nine injured tourists remain in serious condition, with hip and leg injuries.
A member of the rescue team involved said: “A woman died and nine injured when she fell into the water after a sea blow in Tenerife at Puerto de la Cruz Pier at 3pm.”

After being airlifting a medical facility on the island, emergency services said he was pronounced dead on arrival.
In the south of Tenerife, a man was discovered floating in the ocean at El Cabezo beach.
Lifeguards attempted to resuscitate the man, but emergency services pronounced him dead at the scene.
The latest tragedy in the Canary Islands comes just weeks after a 56-year-old British tourist died after falling around 20 feet from a hotel balcony barrier.
The holidaymaker plummeted alongside another Briton, 54, in Lanzarote resort Costa Teguise last month.
The balcony's protective railing is said to have "collapsed".
Emergency services pronounced the 56-year-old dead at the scene.
