Greta Thunberg has been slammed as a "liar" after she shared images of a "Palestinian prisoner" - which were actually of Israeli hostage Evyatar David.
The gaffe was made on Ms Thunberg's Instagram account, where she made a post allegedly showing the suffering of Palestinians in the Israeli prison system.
The post included images of what she claimed to be Palestinian captives, with the caption reading: “The suffering of Palestinian prisoners is not a matter of opinion - it is a fact of systematic cruelty and dehumanisation.
"Humanity cannot be selective. Justice cannot have borders.”

But the image of Mr David used in the 22-year-old Swede's post was taken from a Hamas propaganda video posted on August 1.
In the disturbing footage, the Israeli hostage can be seen in a severely emaciated state and being forced to dig his own grave.
He was kidnapped by Hamas militants from the Nova music festival on October 7, 2023 and has remained in Gazan captivity ever since.
After Ms Thunberg's post on Monday, the Israeli hostage's sister, Yaela David, left a comment reading: “You should make a research before you post things you don’t understand about.
"In the sixth slide you put a photo of an Israeli hostage who Hamas starved on purpose. This is Evyatar David."

Ms David added that “every minute you are not deleting the post, you are becoming a bigger joke."
Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs posted a screenshot of the now-deleted slide on Ms Thunberg's post, and said: "Ignorance blinded by hate is trending.

| GETTYGRETA THUNBERG - READ THE LATEST:
Ms Thunberg was deported from Israel on Monday after attempting to break the naval blockade of Gaza as part of the Global Sumud Flotilla.
The 22-year-old was among 437 campaigners, politicians and lawyers detained by Israeli forces who boarded the 40-vessel humanitarian convoy.
Turkish activist Ersin Çelik, who took part in the mission, alleged that "little Greta" had been beaten, dragged by her hair and "forced her to kiss the Israeli flag" while she was detained.
Ms Thunberg told a Swedish embassy official that her cell was infested with bed begs and she had received little food and water.
Mr David could be released in a matter of days after Israel and Hamas signed off on the first phase of US President Donald Trump's peace plan.
The phase includes the release of all Israeli hostages and Palestinians in prison, alongside the entry of aid into Gaza.
It is believed that around 20 hostages, including David, are still being held captive by Hamas militants.
