Deputy Prime Minister Oliver Dowden has shared an update on the UK's cyber security, after Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) led a “sustained” hacking campaign against British politicians and political processes, the government announced this morning.
Dowden said: "The critical services that government delivers, our public finances, our roads and railways, our schools, our health service, our armed forces, even the heart of central government itself.
"And of all the vaults that cybercriminals are desperate to crack into, this one contains some of the greatest rewards."And that's why we see so many attempts to breach our digital defences. Last year, 40% of the attacks addressed by the National Cybersecurity Center were against the public sector."
