The West Midlands Police Chief Constable Craign Guildford has retired from his post this afternoon.
Delivering the statement, West Midlands Police Crime Commissioner (PCC) Simon Foster made the announcement in Birmingham today after weeks of speculation over the fate of the disgraced officer.
His exit has followed revelations the force was discovered to have deployed "exaggerated and untrue" intelligence to justify a ban on Jewish fans to attend Israeli team Maccabi Tel Aviv from attending a match against Aston Villa in November.
