Justin Maciejewski, who is the Director General of the National Army Museum,, spoke candidly with Charlie Peters about the importance of Remembrance and what he thinks of during the time of reflection.
Speaking to Charlie Peters, the veteran, who spent 27 years in the British Army, said: "It about about 35 years ago that the Western Front Association sort of resurrected this moment of remembrance on the actual day that the First World War came to an end.
"So both Remembrance Sunday, but also Armistice Day itself, are very significant moments of remembrance."
He added: "I think this day - more than Remembrance Sunday - actually really makes us focus on the First World War. I think obviously, we're remembering all people who've sacrificed their lives for our freedom in this country.
"And they came from all around the world.
"But I think, for me, November 11 is a moment to reflect on the First World War. It was the First World War where remembrance was really born as an activity in this country. So it's a very important day."
