Ed Davey slams Labour for not 'understanding the difficulties farmers face'

Liberal Democrat leader Ed Davey has launched a scathing attack on the government's handling of farming issues, highlighting the multiple challenges facing British farmers.

Speaking about the agricultural sector's difficulties, Davey pointed to a perfect storm of rising operational costs, complicated trade arrangements and extreme weather conditions.

In his speech he said: "You have had it hard and this government doesn't seem to realise that."
