Authorities have launched a manhunt after shots were fired at US Border Patrol agents carrying out immigration operations in Chicago.
It is understood that federal agents were conducting an immigration enforcement operation in the city's Little Village area at the time of the incident.
According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), a man driving a black Jeep opened fire toward the agents before fleeing the scene.
The Chicago Police Department confirmed it had not received any reports of injuries after the ordeal.

Protestors against the immigration measures surrounded the federal agents, before a flash bang was deployed in a bid to disperse the group, according to Fox News.
One person is believed to have been arrested in connection to the disorder.
Chicago City Council member Michael Rodriguez fumed at the Border Patrol presence in Chicago on social media, claiming they were "causing all sorts of mayhem".

He wrote: "They’re doing things that are unconstitutional, that are illegal.
"They are causing fear and mayhem in our communities, and that's unacceptable."
Another local politician, Byron Sigcho-Lopez, was livestreaming the standoff between law enforcement and protesters.
Mr Sigcho-Lopez could be heard in the footage confronting the agents over why they were in the Little Village neighbourhood - an area with a large Mexican community.

Agents called for the assistance of Chicago Police, who eventually cleared the scene.
The whereabouts of the shooter and the vehicle he was seen in remain unknown, according to DHS officials.
In a statement posted on social media, the DHS said: "This incident is not isolated and reflects a growing and dangerous trend of violence and obstruction.
"Over the past two months, we’ve seen an increase in assaults and obstruction targeting federal law enforcement during operations.

"These confrontations highlight the dangers our agents face daily and the escalating aggression toward law enforcement.
"The violence must end."
Border Patrol agents have had a visible presence in the Illinois city since September, after the Trump administration launched Operation Midway Blitz.
The DHS said the enforcement operation is looking for illegal immigrants with criminal records in a bid to crack down on sanctuary policies.
