A police investigation is underway after a woman was caught on camera hurling boiling coffee at a McDonald's manager during a furious row over a refund.
The horrific ordeal occurred at a McDonald's restaurant in Saginaw, Michigan on Tuesday.
Footage of the incident showed a woman embroiled in a heated exchange with the manager, claiming she had been charged for items she had not ordered.
The unruly customer was heard calling the manager "a liar", before she shouted: "Why are you lying?"

The fast food worker proceeded to explain that orders made after 10.15am would be refunded and tried to explain to the woman how she would be charged.
She told the customer: "You've got your coffee.
"That's all that you were charged for. Your refund will take up to 48 hours."
The customer appeared to become more agitated, claiming she had been waiting in the restaurant for over an hour before demanding an apology from the manager.

As the McDonald's employee turned around and began to walk away from the situation, footage shows the woman ripping off the lid and chucking the scalding coffee at her.
The customer was heard yelling: "F*** you, b***h.
"Catch that hot coffee."
The manager was seen screaming in agony as the crazed customer stormed out of the restaurant.

Buena Vista Township Police later confirmed that the McDonald's manager had suffered minor burns from the incident.
Law enforcement has said they have identified the customer involved in the incident, naming the alleged perpetrator as 48-year-old Casharra Brown.
Buena Vista detective Russ Pahssen said the force received around 100 tip offs about the identity of the suspect after the video was posted on social media.
He told a local media outlet: “Within about two minutes, we had her identified.”
Mr Pahssen said that the authorities are aware of Ms Brown's address, but have been unable to locate her.
She is believed to reside just minutes away from the location where the incident occurred.
Buena Vista Township Police have confirmed that a warrant has been issued for Ms Brown's arrest.
The detective added that law enforcement have urged prosecutors to charge the 48-year-old with felonious assault.
