Across the capital, hundreds of officers were mobilised in a massive operation against the scourge of shoplifting.
Retailers have pointed to roughly six million offences each year - with authorities forced to devote many more resources to fighting retail crime.
And rather than individual criminals, the Met is raiding small, independent businesses - thought to be fuelling crime against chains by purchasing and reselling stolen goods.
Mark shadowed the force to one business in southeast London suspected of being part of that illegal trade.
