Nigel Farage has urged GB News viewers to "count your blessings" as he opened up on being hit by a car 40 years ago.
Recalling the horror on the People's Channel, the Reform leader revealed how in 1985 he was hit by a Volkswagen Beetle in Orpington, southeast London.
Describing the night of the crash, Nigel told viewers: "40 years ago this Tuesday, I was hit by a car crossing the main road.
"I was wearing a long, dark coat, it was a wet evening, and the windscreen wipers were going."

Noting his injuries, which left him hospitalised for two months and a cast on his leg for a year, he declared: "I was smashed to bits and I survived."
The impact of the collision sent the GB News star into the air, landing on his head as it hit the curb.
Reflecting on his extensive political career and life achievements since the incident, Nigel admitted it can be "easy" for us to become "depressed with the state of the world".
He said: "It can be quite easy if you watch current affairs TV or listen to the radio to get depressed with the state of the world.

"But you know what? I think just sometimes maybe we ought to count our blessings that we are even here."
Asking for the thoughts of his GB News panel and whether Britons get "too depressed these days", former Conservative minister Tom Pursglove agreed: "I think we often don't focus enough on the positives.
"But so much of what you see in the media is very negative, isn't it? We don't tend to read or write about people doing incredibly well, I guess."
He added: "But what you see as a constituency MP is remarkable people doing amazing things."

Delivering his verdict on Nigel's reflection, former Labour MP Geoff Hoon told GB News: "I totally agree with you. You often mentioned in the United States, where I lived for a time a long time ago.
"In the United States, they do celebrate success, and I worry to some extent that in the UK we don't."
Supporting Mr Hoon, Nigel then declared: "I think that's absolutely right, more joy!"
The GB News star has also survived a plane crash in 2010, in the lead up to the general election.
Nigel was left with a punctured lung, two chipped vertebrae, several fractured ribs and a fractured sternum after the aircraft plummeted to the ground.
During his stint on ITV's I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in 2023, the GB News presenter opened up about the crash.
He told his campmates: "I don’t recall being unconscious, but I do recall the explosion, the plane flipping over, being stuck in there.
"Everything broken, every rib front and back, split sternum, punctured lung… it was bad."
