THE Prime Minister should “prepare for war” following the sacking of Suella Braverman as Home Secretary, according to the former Conservative MP Neil Parish.

He told GB News: “Rishi Sunak better prepare for war I think because of course she is very much, Suella, the standard bearer of the right of the party.

“Now, I can understand, as Home Secretary she was probably ill-advised to make these comments, the problem is she does reflect a lot of opinion in the country and it will be very interesting now to see what happens, but I suspect Rishi Sunak in the end was left with no alternative.

“But I would have thought she would have been reshuffled rather than sacked but it's an interesting situation politically for Rishi Sunak, the Government, and the Conservative Party.”

In a discussion during Breakfast with Eamonn Holmes and Isabel Webster, he said: “I think, unfortunately, she may well be positioning herself for what may come after the next General Election.

“This is why people get so fed up with politicians and politics, the fact that they start repositioning themselves before the body is even dead and I think that is the problem here, this is what's likely to happen now.

“I can't write what's going to happen in the future, but I think it's a very tricky situation for Rishi Sunak, he would have been damned if he didn't and he will probably be damned now that he's done it.”

Parish added: “I believe the marches should never have taken place on Remembrance Sunday, and on the Saturday of the weekend of the remembrance, and I think it should have been stopped.

“She has much support for her views, albeit I think she was out of control as far as Rishi Sunak was concerned.”
