A mystery lottery winner has mere hours remaining to come forward and collect a life-changing £10.6million jackpot before the prize slips through their fingers forever.
The fortunate ticket holder, who purchased their entry in Bexley, London on October 4 last year, must make contact with National Lottery operator Allwyn before the clock strikes midnight on April 2.
Despite having a full six months to claim the £10,633,323 windfall, the winner has allowed the deadline to approach with no sign of coming forward.
Should nobody present the winning ticket by Wednesday night, the substantial sum will be redirected to the National Lottery's Good Causes fund rather than transforming someone's financial future.
The winning combination that could unlock this fortune consists of the numbers 6, 8, 12, 33, 49 and 59.
Allwyn has urged customers to rummage down the back of their sofas and rifle through the pockets of winter coats in case the golden ticket has been forgotten.
The operator has noted that because the entry was purchased as a lucky dip, the holder may not be aware of their numbers, making it easier for the ticket to be overlooked or discarded.
This adds an extra layer of difficulty to the search, said National Lottery officials.

The rarity of such situations makes this case particularly unusual, with millions of pounds hanging in the balance during these final hours.
Once the Wednesday midnight deadline passes without a valid claim, the entire £10.6million will be transferred to charitable initiatives supported by the National Lottery's Good Causes fund.
