The Reds will wave goodbye to the Egypt international against Brentford on Sunday

Liverpool have confirmed plans to honour Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson ahead of what promises to be an emotional farewell at Anfield on Sunday.

The Reds will pay tribute to two of the greatest players of the modern era before their glittering careers with the club come to an end at the close of the season.

Supporters attending Liverpool's final home match of the campaign against Brentford will be treated to special mosaics celebrating Salah and Robertson, two men who have helped transform the club into one of the dominant forces in English and European football.

Between them, the pair have lifted the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, FA Cup and EFL Cup, etching their names into Anfield folklore.

Liverpool confirmed the plans in a statement on the club's official website, revealing that fans will have the chance to say a fitting goodbye to two of the most beloved figures in their history.

"Mosaics will be displayed at Anfield on Sunday in celebration of the departing Andy Robertson and Mohamed Salah," the statement read.

"Both legends and cornerstones of the Reds' many successes over the past nine years, Robertson and Salah will leave the club at the end of this season.

"Sunday's Premier League home match against Brentford marks their final game as Liverpool players and a special send-off is planned for the duo, with fan mosaics to be displayed."

The club added that the Kop will lead the tribute to Salah, while the lower Sir Kenny Dalglish Stand will honour Robertson before kick-off.

The announcement comes just days after Salah sparked controversy with a fiery social media post following Liverpool's 4-2 defeat to Aston Villa on Friday night.

The Egyptian appeared to call for a return to the high-octane "heavy metal" football associated with former manager Jurgen Klopp.

His comments drew a scathing response from Wayne Rooney, who suggested head coach Arne Slot should leave Salah out of the squad entirely.

"I find it sad at the end of what he's done and what he's achieved at Liverpool," Rooney said on The Wayne Rooney Show.

"It's not the point for him to come out and aim another dig at Slot."

Rooney also questioned whether Salah still has the physical capacity to thrive in Klopp's demanding system.

"Now I don't think Mo Salah can cope with that type of football anymore," he said.

"I think his legs have gone to play at that high tempo and high intensity."

The former Manchester United captain then delivered his most brutal verdict yet.

He concluded: "If I was Arne Slot, I'd have him nowhere near the stadium in the last game."
