Evanna Lynch, who played Luna Lovegood, told Eamonn and Isabel the Harry Potter cast had great respect for JK Rowling

A Harry Potter star has exclusively told GB News she would be up for appearing in any new projects involving JK Rowling.

Evanna Lynch, who played Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter films, told Eamonn and Isabel on the breakfast show about how much the cast valued JK Rowling, regardless of her beliefs.

The author of the fantasy series has come under fire for airing her views on trans rights in a number of controversial tweets.

The Gloucestershire-born author even had to call in police after activists posted pictures of her address online.

But Lynch played down rumours of a rift between her and the Harry Potter cast, stating she would work with her again.

Appearing on the Breakfast show with Eamonn and Isabel, Evanna Lynch told GB News when asked about appearing in future Harry Potter projects: "How could you not do that? I don't see how you'd turn that down. It was a real please working with them."

She also stated her respect for JK Rowling and called for understanding of people's views.

She told us: "I think there's things we don't all agree with and don't understand.

"I've talked to all the cast, they all have great respect for her if they don't agree with her beliefs.

"She has her beliefs and she's doing her thing.

"It's been a very difficult conversation and i don't want us to keep fighting so i reject that narrative there's been a cold shoulder."

The Luna Lovegood actress also rejected the idea that JK Rowling had not been invited to the Harry Potter reunion show.

I" think she's busy writing books, i don't think that's about conversations that have been had about more controversial issues

"I think she was busy. She's still a big part of it."
