Farage 'WORRIED' for open debate as pro-Palestine MOB BESIEGES MP's home
Nigel Farage has said he believes that recent protests, including outside the home of MP Tobias Ellwood, are the beginnings of political sectarianism in England.
Speaking on GB News, he said: “I wouldn't call Tobias Ellwood an especially high-profile Member of Parliament. I certainly wouldn't call him a particularly controversial Member of Parliament. He has his views and he's very happy to debate and to express them.
“Last night, outside his home in Bournemouth, about 100 people gathered to protest.
“This is all because Tobias Elwood did not support an immediate ceasefire when Israel started to go into Gaza, but a hundred of them were there.
“They were there for a long time, making a huge amount of noise. One or two of the things that were being said were not particularly pleasant, and I am worried about this.
“Yes, of course, we've always had a history in this country of political protest and Members of Parliament have to be big enough and ugly enough to take a bit of stick.
“But I think what we're seeing here, and I've said it before in other contexts, I think for the first time in our lifetimes, we're beginning to see political sectarianism in England.
“We've seen it in Northern Ireland, we know the baleful consequences that they could have.
“And that says to me that we have to think again, even more seriously, about the safety of Members of Parliament. If we don't, my real fear is a lot of very good people simply will not put themselves forward."
