The bail period has once again been extended until Wednesday, which has been confirmed by Greater Manchester Police.
The player remains suspended by Everton Football Club and cannot be named for legal reasons.
A statement at the time of the suspension read: "Everton can confirm it has suspended a player pending a police investigation.
"The Club will continue to support the authorities with their inquiries and will not be making any further statement at this time."
Police have not yet charged the player with any offences.
Shortly after the arrest, a source told the Mirror : "This has caused a massive shock.
"Any suggestion of allegations of offences involving a child are rightly taken seriously from the point they are made."
