Judges of all types could sit in pubs, church halls and libraries to reconnect the justice system with local communities

A former High Court judge has said that pop-up courts in pubs could cut criminal case backlogs and line up with community and justice.

City Pub Group founder Clive Watson claimed that he thinks that this is a good idea.

Speaking to GB News he said: "Obviously you've got to pick times when the pub is not going to be busy, obviously during the day. But I think it's a really good idea. I think pubs are part of the community.

"I think law courts aren't part of the community, and I think we can join the two together. So I think it's a good idea."
