Charlie Rowley claimed that the ''increase in tensions' with Iran is having an 'impact on the West'

Former Special Advisor to Michael Gove, Charlie Rowley has claimed that the ''increase in tensions' with Iran is having an 'impact on the West.'

Speaking on GB News he said: " It plays into the very uncertain times that we're living. And there'll be supporters of Donald Trump who are clearly adversaries of Joe Biden to say we must act now.

"It's a demonstration of showing your strength. Opponents of Biden will say that the US looks weak if it doesn't take action now against Iran.

"It is, as we know, funding these at arms-length organizations like Hezbollah in Tehran, like the Houthis who are carrying out the attacks in the Red Sea.

"Iran is responsible for a number of the situations that we're seeing in that region which is now for the very first time, it seems to me having a direct impact on the West.

"Whether it's on the UK with HMS Diamond in the Red Sea, or whether it's the sad death of those three US service personnel on the border of Syria and Jordan and the others injured.

"So it is a real increase in tensions and it's having a real direct impact on the UK and the US."
